Why support the Library?

Our Library is a reflection of our community. How well the Library is doing shows very clearly how much our town values education, opportunity, ideas and knowledge. A healthy Library is essential in providing opportunity for a true cross-section of our community: children, teens, families and seniors all rely on the Library for life-long learning. The Foundation seeks to ensure that our Library remains a strong and thriving resource for all of Corona.

What does the Library Foundation do?

The Library continually expands its services to meet our community’s needs. The Foundation’s role is to partner with businesses, organizations and individuals to secure funding for these programs and resources. The Library’s “top three” needs for funding targeted by the Foundation are: literacy services for all ages, supporting technology services and resources, and planning for future growth.

What kinds of gifts are accepted by the Foundation?

While gifts of cash are the most common, all kinds of gifts to the Foundation are gratefully considered: bequests, planned gifts, real estate, appreciated securities, life insurance policies, charitable trusts, memorial gifts, and bequests.

How can I make a gift to the Foundation?

Please call the Library Division Manager at 951-279-3728, or download and fax completed form to 951- 736-2499. You may also e-mail the Foundation at:

What is the difference between the Corona Public Library Foundation the Library Board of Trustees, and the Friends of the Library

The Corona Public Library Foundation is a 501(c) 3 Charitable Organization. The Foundation solicits funding for major improvements and has established an endowment fund to ensure that Corona Library continues to meet the needs of our community well into the future. The Foundation’s efforts complement those of the Friends, and are designed to accept large gifts from the private sector, including planned giving and corporate donations.

Board of Trustee members are appointed by the Mayor. This advisory board provides oversight of Library operations and contributes to long-range plans and goal-setting, working in concert with the Library Director and leadership. The Library’s Board of Trustees is made up of five Corona residents who are not currently city employees or officials.

The Friends of the Corona Public Library is a membership-based non-profit group supporting library programs and enhancements to the Library environment. The Friends also work to preserve community heritage and sponsor a wide variety of public programs and events. The Friends' volunteers operate the Book Shop in the Library, offering gently used and new books, with all proceeds benefitting the Library.
